AHANA

Being the first engineer in my family and part of its first generation to pursue a professional career taught me how much access and opportunity can shape a life.

I began my professional life as an entrepreneur in India, using my wedding gifts to buy a computer and start a consulting company. Later, during a decade at Microsoft, I worked across engineering and technical business roles, served on the board of Hoppers (Women at Microsoft), and was a founding member of the team that organized Microsoft’s first Women’s Conference.

Over time, my work expanded to include philanthropy, angel investing, board service, and independent film. Across these worlds, I saw talented women pursuing ambitious work without always having the knowledge, relationships, capital, or visibility needed to advance it.

Ahana Collective grew from those experiences. For me, Ahana is about expanding women’s influence over what gets built, what gets funded, and which stories reach audiences.
